WORSHIP & COMMUNITY

 

At The First Presbyterian Church of Berkshire Valley, we love our worship time together, but we especially love when we're able to get together as  a church family and just enjoy each other's company. That sense of community has made the year of 2020 particularly hard on us, but not impossible.  In response to the Covid 19 pandemic that took the world by storm, we immediately created a virtual community of worship, learning and fellowship with the help of Zoom.

With it, we were able to not only worship together and share with each other throughout the service, but held bible studies and committee meetings, held special worship services on the holidays, began what has become a popular book group discussing novels that touch not only on our faith, but also on the realities of our world, and we've even had meals and other social occasions virtually just so that we could stay connected to each other.  That has created an even tighter knit family of faith that makes our spiritual health tied tightly to every other aspect of our lives.    

 

During the Summer months we hold some of our Sunday Worship services in our beautiful outdoor chapel.

Seeing the need for our virtual community to be maintained, we began streaming our services so that those who chose to stay in their homes or were traveling, could still have the opportunity to be at church with us.  We still maintain our Zoom community and still regularly use that as well.  

​

We invite you to come and visit our truly historic church and experience the reason why The First Presbyterian Church of Berkshire Valley has survived our crazy world for over two hundred years and is still alive and excited to see what God can do in all of our lives, when we allow God in.
